A “buy-bust” conducted by the Zanesville Police Department resulted in two arrests Wednesday. Officials report that the department had received multiple complaints of drug activity at a residence on Thurman Street, over the course of several months. A search warrant was issued for the residence, after the Zanesville Police Department’s narcotics unit and patrol officers made the buy-bust in the Underwood Avenue and Eastman Street area.
Police say that two women – Heather M. Chandler (27), and Jasmine Harris (19) – were taken into custody. Harris was charged with a misdemeanor drug abuse charge and later released. Chandler remains in custody and faces multiple drug-related charges, both felony and misdemeanor. Officials report that crack cocaine, cocaine, prescription medications and drug paraphernalia were recovered from the Thurman Street home. A dog believed to be some type of pit bull was also removed from the back yard by the Muskingum County Dog Warden.
